Misha Cirkunov became the first fighter to submit Patrick Cummins earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 27, 2018) at UFC Fight Night 138 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, when he finished the wrestler via first-round arm triangle choke.
Cummins closed the distance pretty quickly in this fight. He tried his best to battle Cirkunov along the cage and bring the action to the ground. But Cirkunov would eventually flip the script by securing a takedown into full mount and quickly working for an arm triangle choke. A few seconds later Cummins was forced to tap.

With this performance, Cirkunov is able to wipe away a two-fight losing streak he sustained at the hands of contenders Volkan Oezdemir and Glover Teixeira. At just 31 years of age, Cirkunov has a real chance to develop into a serious title threat at 205 pounds. Finishes like this one will only get him there quicker.
