Veteran welterweight fighter Luis Santos scored his 37th career knockout yesterday (Fri., Oct. 26, 2018) at ONE Championship: Pursuit of Greatness from inside Yangon’s Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar, when he put a stop to Daichi Abe via first-round knockout (liver kick).
This fight didn’t last long. In just 33 seconds, Santos blasted Abe with three nasty kicks to the body. The third strike landed directly to Abe’s liver and forced the former UFC fighter to cover up and fall to the canvas. No insurance shots were needed as Santos’ damage was already done.

With this performance, Santos gets back into the win column after losing a decision to Tyler McGuire back in July. The 38-year-old Brazilian fighter improved his overall professional record to 65-11-1 (1 NC) with this finish and increases his career stoppage total to 49.
While Santos is long removed from his championship bout opposite Ben Askren back in 2015, a few more finishes like this one could land “Sapo” another ONE Championship title shot.
