Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell, has victories over fellow ex-UFC titleholders Tito Ortiz and Vitor Belfort. And, not surprisingly, both aging veterans are looking to avenge those losses.
“The Huntington Beach Bad Boy,” stopped by “The Iceman” at UFC 47 and then again at UFC 66, will get the opportunity when Golden Boy MMA holds its inaugural mixed martial arts (MMA) event next month in Inglewood, California.
And it sounds like “The Phenom” wants first dibs on the winner, which according to the bookies, should be Liddell. Sure, the former Xyience spokesman turns 49 this year, but that’s what the Legends League is for!
“You have to grab life by the balls, no matter who calls the shots! I beat you Chuck Liddell,” Belfort wrote on social media in regards to his UFC 37.5 loss to the icy one back in June 2002. “You were lucky to be managed by the boss, Dana White.”
Belfort (26-14, 1 NC) retired from combat sports in the wake of his knockout loss to Lyoto Machida back in May. The 41 year-old Brazilian hasn’t won back-to-back fights in over five years, when he was commander-in-chief of the TRT squad.
Anyone ready for Liddell vs. Belfort 2?
