Video: Conor McGregor surprises Irish boxing champion Katie Taylor backstage before win

Conor McGregor has not been shy to show his face in public after getting steamrolled by Khabib Nurmagomedov earlier this month at UFC 229.

“Notorious” was first seen chumming it up with Dallas Cowboys owners Jerry Jones last weekend and then was spotted last night (Sat., Oct. 20, 2018) at TD Garden in Boston when he paid a visit to Irish boxing champion Katie Taylor.

The above video shows McGregor wishing Taylor luck backstage before the undefeated lightweight went out and defeated Cindy Serrano to retain her WBA and IBF titles.

Remember, this isn’t the first time McGregor went out of his way to visit a fellow Irish combat star before competition. The former UFC champion invaded Madison Square Garden last year to chat it up with Irish boxer and former Olympic medalist Michael Conlon.

In addition to his backstage visit with Taylor, McGregor also snapped this quick photo with legendary boxing ring announcer Michael Buffer (brother of UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer):

While most fighters would go into hiding after receiving the beating that McGregor did at the hands of Khabib, “Notorious” has always been able to stomach a tough loss. That has awarded him the opportunity to remain in the combat sports spotlight, whether visiting billionaire NFL owners, surprising fellow Irish fighters with a quick pep talk, or driving around Boston to deliver his Proper No. 12 Irish whiskey.
