Nate Diaz going ‘back out on tour’ following UFC 230 fallout, bashes Poirier’s ‘mysterious’ injury

Nate Diaz is not going quietly.

The popular UFC fighter is taking aim at the entire lightweight roster after zero fighters stepped up to fill in for an injured Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 next month in New York City. Remember, Diaz and Poirier were originally pegged for the co-main event slot before “Diamond” withdrew earlier this month due to a nagging hip injury.

In a recent social media post (shown below), Diaz suggests stepping away from the sport again after the roster fell silent for a replacement.

Diaz, who was expecting to step foot inside of the Octagon for the first time since losing to Conor McGregor back at UFC 202, also took aim at Poirier. Earlier this week, “Diamond” informed fans that he was able to bypass surgery on his hip and is only expecting a three-week recovery time. That obviously didn’t sit well with Diaz, as shown above.

After seeing what Diaz had to say about his UFC 230 removal, Poirier fired back with the following tweet:

Diaz does pay respect to former lightweight Jorge Masvidal, who reportedly lobbied to fill in for Poirier at UFC 230. Unfortunately, the welterweight contender didn’t get his wish. Instead, Diaz was yanked from the New York City card entirely.

For now, Diaz’s return to the Octagon will have to wait. Fight fans have been anxious to see the former UFC title challenger compete following his two bouts with McGregor so hopefully the promotion is able to re-book Diaz a fight by the end of the year.
