Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has officially booked a highly-intriguing women’s Featherweight showdown between Megan Anderson and Cat Zingano for the upcoming UFC 232 pay-per-view (PPV) event on December 29, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The fight will be Megan’s second attempt to collect her first win inside the Octagon after coming up short in her debut against Holly Holm this past summer at UFC 225 after talks of a potential title fight against Cris Cyborg fell through.
Prior to entering UFC, Megan was the Invicta FC women’s Featherweight champion and left the promotion on a four-fight win streak.
Zingano, meanwhile, will be making her 145-pound debut. She was last seen putting an end to her three fight losing streak in the Bantamweight division by taking out Marion Reneau this past July.
The win was Cat’s first since 2014.
The fight was likely stage as a potential backup for the co-headlining act, as Cris Cyborg recently declared she wanted one in place in case Amanda Nunes backed out of their scheduled title fight.
UFC 232 is set to be headlined by a Light Heavyweight title fight between former division kingpin Jon Jones, as he rematches Alexander Gustafsson in a fight five years in the making.
