Massive Bellator 207 knockout earns SportsCenter’s top play of the night

The televised portion of Bellator 207 on the Paramount network kicked off with a bang as undefeated Mandel Nallo earned another win over Carrington Banks with a perfectly aimed knee to the jaw seconds into the second round.

That’s seven wins for Nallo and seven finishes, but this one is undoubtedly sweeter for the Canadian fighter given the television exposure. That exposure only grew after ESPN’s SportsCenter featured the finish as their top play of the night and called it a knockout of the year contender over social media.

Nallo is the latest hot prospect to emerge from Montreal’s TriStar gym and he counts Georges St-Pierre as one of his supporters and cheerleaders.

ESPN may be cozying up with the UFC following a massive TV and internet deal that will make the sports network the promotion’s new home starting in 2019. But that didn’t stop them from giving this amazing finish from the competition the love it deserves.

Now if only Bellator gave away $50,000 bonuses...
