Sergei Kharitonov put a beating on heavyweight veteran Roy Nelson last night (Fri., Oct. 12, 2018) at Bellator 207 live on Paramount Network from inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, when the Russian put “Big Country” out via first-round knockout (punches and knee).
Wile Nelson landed his typical onslaught of lead jabs and overhand rights, Kharitonov was simply too big and too aggressive to stop. Kharitonov’s efforts were paid off when he caught Nelson against the cage and unloaded with heavy knees and upper cuts. Nelson’s chin held up for a bit but Kharitonov scored another uppercut that put “Big Country” in a dizzy and left him open for one final, and brutally decisive, knee.

With this performance, Kharitonov finishes a true veteran heavyweight that has only been put out twice before. It is the Russian’s 16th career knockout finish and one heck of a way to make a return to the Bellator cage.
