History was made quick earlier tonight (Fri., Oct. 12, 2018) at Bellator 207 from inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, as Mike Kimbel put an end to Alex Potts via knockout just six seconds into the very first round.
After capturing a 63-second TKO finish over Geoffrey Then in his professional debut earlier this year at Bellator 194, Kimbel wasted no time in his return to the cage. He caught Potts flush with a perfectly-timed right hand counter that dropped the Syracuse fighter to the canvas. Kimbel landed one final hammer fist as insurance before the referee peeled him off for the stoppage, which is now tied with Hector Lombard’s 2010 knockout over Jay Silva as the quickest finish in Bellator MMA history.

With this performance, Kimbel puts his name on the map as an up-and-coming flyweight with devastating punching power. The only issue about tonight’s knockout finish is that it took place on the “Prelims” undercard, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bellator MMA president Scott Coker stick this kid on a main card his next time out.
