Bellator 206 “Mousasi vs. MacDonald” took place September 29, 2018 at SAP Center in San Jose, California. Before the co-main event had even taken place, Bellator MMA had more news to announce.

Company President Scott Coker announced that David Green would officially become “Head of Bellator Europe,” reporting to Coker and overseeing Bellator’s European expansion. This expansion is set to include an all new Western Europe-based fight series, details of which were not fully available in said announcement. Coker did offer these comments.

“We are pleased to welcome David to the Bellator team. His experience and knowledge of the U.K. market makes him a great addition to the organization. We look forward to him being an integral part of Bellator’s growth as we continue to expand our footprint within the region.”

Prior to accepting this position with Bellator, Green was the founder and CEO of BAMMA dating back to its inception in 2009. Green oversaw BAMMA’s TV rights negotiations and partnerships for 38 successful events held all across Europe. Obviously that body of experience bodes well for Bellator’s European plans going forward.
