Video: Cris Cyborg’s UFC 219 pre-fight warmup consisted of striking coach slapping her very hard in the face

You may be tough, but you’re not Cris Cyborg tough.

Prior to her headlining title fight against ex-boxing champion Holly Holm at UFC 219 on Dec. 30, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada (see it), Cris was in the back warming up, which consisted of her striking coach, Jason Parillo, slapping her straight across the face.

And he lived to tell about it.

Cyborg has proven she can take a hit, as she took Holly’s best shots en route to a unanimous decision win to hold on to her women’s Featherweight strap. The win was Cris’s first-ever title defense after winning the title in early 2017.

As for what’s next for the fearsome striker, she was briefly rumored to be facing off against Invicta FC 145-pound champion Megan Anderson at UFC 221, but was quickly shot down by Megan herself.

One champion who is interested in throwing down against Cris is Amanda Nunes, as the current women’s Bantamweight title holder has been on the campaign trail trying to score the bout. Even Dana White is on board.

Cris, though, doesn’t seem too keen on facing off against he fellow countrywomen, opting to face a true 145-pound fighter in an attempt to help the division grow.

Can you blame her?
