Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back on television tonight (Sat., Feb. 3, 2018) with the UFC Fight Night 125 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, which features a middleweight main event between Lyoto Machida and Eryk Anders, who battle for a spot in the 185-pound title chase.
Elsewhere on the card, held inside Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Brazil, undefeated flyweight prospect Priscila Cachoeira makes her Octagon debut against bantamweight import Valentina Shevchenko, while Desmond Green and Michel Prazeres hook ‘em up in lightweight action.

Round 1: Prazeres tries a pair of head kicks. Jab from Green. Good low kick from Prazeres answered in kind. Prazeres catches a kick and they scramble a minute in. Green hits a takedown and looks for the back. Green drags him down, but Prazeres scrambles up into a takedown attempt of his own. Two minutes in. Green avoids a trip and reverses against the cage. They trade knees against the cage two minutes in. Hadzovic nearly cracks him with a knee after avoiding a takedown and they separate. Round 3: Patrick lands a knee to the body, takedown stuffed. Hadzovic whacks him with a couple body shots before getting taken down into guard yet again. One minute in. Patrick not doing much in the way of ground-and-pound.Hadzovic just playing defense, not doing anything to stand. Patrick postures out of another armbar attempt. Two minutes to go.

115 lbs.: Polyana Viana vs. Maia Stevenson
Round 1: They trade early punches until Viana hits a hip toss near the fence. Stevenson uses a whizzer to stand and takes her down, only to wind up in immediate armbar danger. One minute in. Viana gets Stevenson’s back against the mat and cranks, but Stevenson survives and presses her against the cage. Viana threatening an anaconda choke two minutes in. She transitions to a guillotine and takes her down into half guard. Two minutes to go.
Good right hands by the Brazilian. Now she passes to mount with 80 seconds to work, then takes the back and immediately locks up the choke.

135 lbs.: Iuri Alcantara vs. Joe Soto
Round 1: Heavy body kick from Alcantara in the early going. They trade in the center. Long shot from Soto denied and he gets hurt by a body kick. Alcantara storms after him with every strike in the book, ultimately dropping him with a left hand and bashing away until Osiris Maia finally wakes up and steps in.
Final result: Alcantara def. Soto by TKO (punches)
125 lbs.: Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Joseph Morales
Round 1: Figueiredo tries to spin and Morales ties up, only to get tripped into half guard against the cage. Morales nearly hits a sweep, but Figueiredo keeps his balance a minute in. Butterfly guard. Figueiredo stands over him, avoiding upkicks and shoves Morales to the mat when he tries to stand. Figueiredo dropping heavy hammerfists amidst the onslaught of upkicks. Two minutes in. Hard left hand. Morales gets butterfly guard back, eats an elbow. Two minutes to go.
Full guard now. Figueiredo staying tight, landing short blows. Morales’ control is good, but he’s still taking some shots. REf stands them up with a minute to go. Figueiredo catches him coming in with a knee-buckling jab and slaps on a guillotine from half guard. Morales survives without issue and Figueiredo goes for some Tarzan-esque hammerfists. 10-9 Figueiredo.
Round 2: Figueiredo fires a Superman punch and marches after Morales, flinging punches and elbows. Body kick from Morales. Figueiredo ducks a 1-2 and hits another takedown, avoiding a guillotine in the process. Figueiredo doing a good job of shutting down Morales’ scrambles. Full guard. Figueiredo sneaks in elbows two minutes in. Figueiredo stands over him, drops a right hand as Morales blatantly grabs the fence for like five combined seconds. Morales makes it to his feet. They trade left hooks on the fence and Figueiredo gets the better of it, dropping Morales hard and following up for the finish.
