Despite ripped physiques, Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione pass Bellator 194 steroid tests

Maybe next time.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight hurters, Roy Nelson and Matt Mitrione, have once again managed to (somehow) pass steroid tests, this time under the Bellator MMA banner.

That’s according to Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation director Mike Mazzulli, who confirmed to MMA Fighting that both Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinalists (see the bracket here) were drug free ahead of next month’s showdown.

Bellator 194: “Nelson vs. Mitrione 2” takes place Sat., Feb. 16, 2018 inside Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, live on the Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV). “Big Country” (23-14) holds a knockout win over “Meathead” (12-5), scored in The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 12 Finale back in 2012.

The winner of Nelson-Mitrione will move on to fight the winner of Ryan Bader vs. Muhammed Lawal, who go to war this May. Elsewhere in the tournament, the winner of Frank Mir vs. Fedor Emelianenko awaits Chael Sonnen, who topped Quinton Jackson earlier this month.
