The TD Garden will be rocking on Jan. 20, 2018 when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) invades Boston, Mass., to stage the upcoming UFC 220 pay-per-view (PPV) event featuring a Heavyweight title fight pitting division champion Stipe Miocic against No. 1 contender Francis Ngannou.
Miocic will look to become the first Heavyweight to defend the UFC 265-pound strap three straight times, as he already holds two successful defenses over Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos. Going into the record books won’t be easy, as Francis is as dangerous as they come.
“The Predator” stormed his way into title contention by winning all six of his bouts inside the Octagon via stoppage, including his most recent and devastating knockout win over “The Reem” at UFC 218 (see it again here).
The event will also feature a Light Heavyweight title bout that will see Daniel Cormier attempt to defend his strap against Volkan Oezdemir in “DC’s” first fight since losing to Jon Jones back at UFC 214.
