UPDATE - Ronda Rousey was indeed at the Royal Rumble, where she appeared after the Women’s Rumble and challenged Charlotte Flair for a match at WrestleMania 34 on April 8th. News came out shortly after that Rousey has signed on as a ‘full time performer’ for the WWE, implying she’ll be making a lot of appearances in the future.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it one more time: don’t get your hopes up on Ronda Rousey appearing at the 2018 Royal Rumble. Rumors of her participation have been floating around since the announcement that this year’s event would feature the first ever 30 woman Royal Rumble, with the winner getting a shot at the women’s championship belt at WrestleMania 34 in April.
But Rousey herself shot down those claims earlier this week when TMZ caught her at the airport on the way to Columbia, where she’s filming the Mark Wahlberg action flick Mile 22. There was some suspicion that maybe it was all a smokescreen to hide her participation in the Rumble, but Rousey’s Instagram account started updating with photos of her stay in Bogota.
More subterfuge? That seems a little far fetched, but we suppose it’s possible. What’s less likely is that a Mile 22 make up artist is in on the whole ruse. She just posted a photo of Ronda getting prepped for a day’s worth of shooting this Sunday morning at about 11AM EST.
In the background you can see Ronda’s co-star Lauren Cohan of The Walking Dead fame.
At this point, it’s nearly impossible for Rousey to fly out of Bogota and get to Philadelphia in time to participate in the Royal Rumble. So let’s all just accept that Ronda won’t be at the Royal Rumble, and prepare ourselves for the even crazier rumor mill that’s sure to build up around WrestleMania.
