Floyd Mayweather Sr., who was back in the headlines last summer — in the role of jester for “The Money Team” — turned himself into authorities this week, where he was charged with misdemeanor battery.
Mayweather is accused of getting into a parking lot altercation with a woman in the wake of the Canelo-GGG fight last September, one in which the victim claims she was dragged from a car and eventually slugged.
The unidentified woman was hospitalized for minor injuries, but reps for Mayweather told TMZ that he was being extorted and that any attempt to pump him for money would prove unsuccessful.
Mayweather is innocent until proven guilty, but this is no doubt bad publicity for his family after his son and retired boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather Jr., served jail time for knocking around the mother of his children back in 2012.
