Hell hath no fury like Stipe Miocic’s wife.
Ryan Miocic recently tore into Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) for what she perceived to be a disrespectful Instagram post, one that asked mixed martial arts (MMA) fans if her husband was, in fact, the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time.
He’s certainly in the running after turning away Francis Ngannou at the UFC 220 pay-per-view (PPV) event last weekend in Boston, Massachusetts, a performance that also improved his place in the pound-for-pound rankings.
But it’s not outrageous to think an argument can be made for select heavyweights who came before him, like former PRIDE deity Fedor Emelianenko, among others.
Here’s the post in question:
And her blistering response, courtesy of WKYC.com:
“SO disappointing and honestly in shock that you would even write this post!!!!! Get behind your Champion! It’s time! Continued disrespect for the blue collar, stand up individual serving his community, and dominating his division.
“This is a man that goes above and beyond for everyone he meets and does nothing but gracefully display his talent. He is a shining example of a hero, a family man, a role model for kids and everyone else he encounters. You really need to re-evaluate who it is that you choose to stand behind. Very disappointing. But sadly, not surprising.”
They’re so sensitive in Cleveland!
Miocic has been at odds with UFC for a couple of years now. Before airing his grievances over pre-fight hype, in which the champ believes he was snubbed, the full-time firefighter was butthurt over the financial side of things.
SO WHAT DO YOU THINK FIGHT FANS ... IS STIPE MIOCIC THE GREATEST HEAVYWEIGHT OF ALL TIME?!?
