Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas, captured the 115-pound crown by smashing and trashing Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC 217 pay-per-view (PPV) event last November in New York City.
I guess it was a fluke, or maybe “Thug” got lucky.
I’m not sure how else to justify the 2-1 opening line for the Jedrzejczyk-Namajunas odds, which are currently sitting at -260 for the challenger against +180 for the champion, according to Best Fight Odds.
Namajunas vs. Jedrzejczyk 2 was recently made official for the upcoming UFC 223 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on April 7, 2018, inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York (details here).
Leading up to their 115-pound do-over, Jedrzejczyk promises to be even more arrogant than she was ahead of UFC 217, despite losing in dramatic fashion her last time out. Namajunas, meanwhile, will continue to play the strong, silent type.
So ... who’s running to the betting window after seeing this opening line?
