Bellator 192 “Rampage vs. Sonnen” took place Jan. 20, 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The night’s main event saw Chael Sonnen out-wrestle Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to a unanimous decision, advancing to the second round in the Heavyweight Grand Prix.
At least Jackson can be consoled by the size of the check he cashed.
For their efforts both Jackson and Sonnen pocketed a cool $300,000 in guaranteed money according to the California State Athletic Commission. They were not the only fighters on the main card who pocketed large checks for one night’s work.
Co-main eventers Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima also garnered $100,000 in guaranteed money for their five round Welterweight title bout, though it was MacDonald who left with the belt and a badly injured leg. Michael Chandler earned $50,000 for his defeat of Goiti Yamauchi, who got $23,000 to show and would have doubled that had he won.
Aaron Pico picked up $60,000 total ($30K to show, $30K win bonus) for 37 seconds of work in dispatching Shane Kruchten, while Henry Corrales earned $40,000 ($20K and $20K for the win) in his decision victory over “Insane” Georgi Karakhanyan.
