Bellator 192 “Rampage vs. Sonnen” took place Jan. 20, 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. A star studded night of MMA action was simulcast on Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV) and CMT with five fights on the live broadcast (results here).
The top two fights have implications for the rest of the year in Bellator MMA. The opening round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix saw “The American Gangster” Chael Sonnen defeat Quinton “Rampage” Jackson by unanimous decision (recap) and advance to potentially face either Fedor Emelianenko or Frank Mir in the second round. Highlights of the fight can be found above.
In the co-main event Rory MacDonald bested two time Welterweight champion Douglas Lima by scores of 48-47, 49-45 and 49-46 to become Bellator’s new king at 170 pounds. He’s already got his eye on other prizes at 185 pounds and up and isn’t shy about wanting to become a two weight class champion, although Lima punished his leg to the point those plans may be on hold.
“I definitely feel like the best in the world after fighting that guy. I think I have a person growing inside me down there. I can’t really walk on (my leg) but whatever I got through it.”
All of those highlights including Michael Chandler dominating Goiti Yamauchi and Aaron Pico stopping Shane Kruchten in just 37 seconds can be seen in the embedded video above.
