Latest UFC rankings update: Cris Cyborg, Khabib Nurmagomedov shake up pound-for-pound list

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to the pay-per-view (PPV) market last weekend with the UFC 219: "Cyborg vs. Holm" mixed martial arts (MMA) extravaganza, which took place on Sat. night (Dec. 30, 2017) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Get complete results and play-by-play here.

UFC 219 was headlined by the women's featherweight title fight featuring Cristiane Justino, who outlasted former bantamweight champion Holly Holm in the five-round main event (video). Because UFC does not have enough (or any) featherweight fighters, neither "Cyborg" nor "The Preacher's Daughter" will be ranked at 145 pounds.

Khabib Nurmagomedov can be ranked after his unanimous decision win over Edson Barboza (highlights), and is, but gained no ground, simply because the two combatants ahead of him, Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor, both lay claim to the 155-pound strap.

That said, both Justino and "The Eagle" are featured on the pound-for-pound list.

Here's how the rankings work, courtesy of UFC.com:

Rankings were generated by a voting panel made up of media members. The media members were asked to vote for who they feel are the top fighters in the UFC by weight-class and pound-for-pound. A fighter is only eligible to be voted on if they are in active status in the UFC. A fighter can appear in more than one weight division at a time. The champion and interim champion are considered to be in the top positions of their respective divisions and therefore are not eligible for voting by weight-class. However, the champions can be voted on for the pound-for-pound rankings.

Take a look at what the latest rankings field looks like courtesy of UFC.com. Note: (+/- = movement in rankings, *NR = Not previously ranked).
