The rematch is on!
Newly crowned Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women’s strawweight queen Rose Namajunas will look to defend her 115-pound title for the first time against former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 223 on April 7 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from inside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The bout, which was announced during the UFC 25th Anniversary press conference earlier today (full replay here), will serve as the co-main event.

These two strawweights met back at UFC 217 in New York City when Namajunas pulled off one of the more improbable title fight victories in UFC history by knocking out Jedrzejczyk in the first round. It was Jedrzejczyk’s first career loss and a championship shift that essentially rattled the entire strawweight division. The finish also happened to be the first knockout in the career of “Thug.”
UFC 223 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between interim champion Tony Ferguson and undefeated Russian contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.
