Cody Garbrandt says he’d rip Jean Claude Van Damme’s head off in a real fight

The MMA world went through a bit of a quiet period over the holidays, but one story that entertained all who read it was Cody Garbrandt’s crazy encounter with Jean Claude Van Damme. The former bantamweight champ welcomed the “Muscles from Brussels” into the cage at Team Alpha Male to do some kick exercises, only to have Van Damme kick him square in the teeth.

Video of the event showed up soon after, and while Garbrandt says the two are cool now, he still wants to be clear about who’d win in a real fight.

”I’d rip his f**king head off,” he told TMZ Sports when they asked. “Is that really a question?”

Sure, Garbrandt has all the advantages in a hypothetical MMA fight against Van Damme. But Jean Claude still kicked him right in the face, and it’ll never get old reminding him of that at every opportunity.
