We just can’t seem to stop talking about serial killers these days.
Not long after we brought word of the Charles Manson-Strikeforce connection, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight titleholder and UFC 220 co-headliner Daniel Cormier went and compared his longtime rival, Jon Jones, to another famous serial killer.
Ted Bundy.
”Jon Jones took a polygraph test to prove his innocence,” Cormier said in regard to the Jones drug-test drama (via MMA Fighting). “And I’m going to say this: Ted Bundy passed a polygraph test … and then killed the fucking guy that was giving it to him!”
Bundy went on a multi-year killing spree during the mid-1970s and following his arrest and conviction, was sent to the electric chair in early 1989. Jones, meanwhile, will be sent to arbitration to try to prove he’s not a steroid cheat.
They’re practically twins! Like Julius and Vincent, I suppose.
Cormier was re-gifted the 205-pound strap after Jones stopped him at UFC 214, thanks to a pre-fight drug test that came back hot for Turinabol. There is no timeline for “Bones” return; however, it seems like he’s got friends in high places.
Let’s just hope he can stay out of trouble between now and then.
