That was fast.
Former Bellator commentator Jimmy Smith has been added to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) broadcast team for this weekend's UFC 220: “Miocic vs. Ngannou” pay-per-view (PPV) event, taking place inside TD Garden Arena in Boston.
But don't expect to see him in “Beantown.”
Smith — who will provide color commentary at future events — has been assigned to the FOX Sports desk in the Los Angeles studio, according to MMA Junkie, alongside Karyn Bryant, Kenny Florian and Rashad Evans.
“Studying fights for next week plus UFC tonight plus college wrestling, I am not leaving my couch for awhile,” Smith wrote on social media.
Headlined by the Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou title fight, the UFC 220 live event will have Jon Anik and Joe Rogan cageside, with former bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz adding his two cents.
