The UFC is currently booking up it’s upcoming April 7th UFC 223 card in Brooklyn, New York, and some of the fights coming out sound pretty damn great. There’s fighter turned commentator Paul Felder getting back to his roots against “Raging” Al Iaquinta, who continues to compete in the UFC despite regularly hazing them on social media.
The finishing touches are also being put on a women’s strawweight fight between former title contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Felice Herrig, according to MMANYTT. Kowalkiewicz broke a two fight losing skid in October with a decision win over Jodie Esquibel in October. Those losses came at the hands of then-champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk and then Claudia Gadelha, who caught Karolina in a rear naked choke just three minutes into their bout.
As for Felice Herrig, she’s been on a four fight win streak with her latest win being a split decision win over Cortney Casey. After the fight she called on the UFC to put her against some opposition higher up in the rankings, and the UFC has obliged with 4th ranked Kowalkiewicz.
UFC 223 will take place at the Barclays Center and also features a lightweight fight between Mairbek Taisumov and Evan Dunham. No main event has been revealed for the card just yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised if that changes soon.
