White: Vitor Belfort won’t get paid for UFC St. Louis because ‘Phenom’ turned down two replacement fights

Vitor Belfort was on the scene and made weight for his UFC Fight Night 124 showdown against Uriah Hall, which was expected to take place in the FOX Sports 1 co-main event last night (Jan. 14, 2018) in St. Louis, Missouri.

Then “Prime Time” failed to weigh in because of this.

Stranded at the scale, Belfort was planning to hit the showers and collect his “show” money; however, the promotion had other ideas, floating two potential replacement names for the Brazilian’s consideration.

Both were denied.

“This thing went down, we worked quickly and we got Vitor a fight,” Dana White said (via MMA Fighting). “He could have fought [on Sunday], he chose not to. We got him a fight in Boston. He chose not to fight in Boston. He chose not to fight then. I don’t know who the opponents were, but they told him we got him two fights.”

We know it wasn’t this guy.

Belfort slammed the promotion for disrespecting him and wanted to leave the sport on his terms. His bout against Hall was expected to be the last under the UFC banner and now his future is uncertain.

Might be time to resurrect this idea.
