Jeremy Stephens promised violence, and he delivered, taking it to Doo Ho Choi in the headlining bout of UFC Fight Night 124, which went down last night (Sun., Jan. 14, 2018) from inside Scottrade Center in St. Louis. Missouri.
After a feeling out process, both men began to loosen up, taking turns landing decent shots on one another, which saw “The Korean Superboy” clip and daze “Lil’ Heathen” with an Anderson Silva-like front kick in the opening frame.
Stephens, though, was solid all around, peppering his foe with leg kicks while setting up his powerful strikes. And in round two, Jeremy unloaded a vicious right hand that clipped Choi and dropped him to the mat. Once there, Stephens uncorked a right hand from hell to his downed foe that had him seeing stars.
After following it up with some ground-and-pound, the fight was eventually stopped to prevent Choi from taking further damage. And while it wasn’t the five-round war many were hoping for, the fight entertained while it lasted, and it was a huge win for Stephens.
After the victory, “Lil’ Heathen” took his shot and called for a showdown against top contender Brian Ortega.
