Before Doo Ho Choi faces off against Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night 124 inside Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., on Jan. 14, 2018, let’s take a look back at one of Choi’s most memorable bouts inside the Octagon.
In Dec. 2016, Choi found himself going up against long-time mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Cub Swanson at UFC 206. What ensued was an all out war, as Swanson and Choi let it all hang out for a full 15 minutes in what proved to be a stand up affair.
Unfortunately for “Korean Superboy,” he was on the receiving end of most of the major blows, but his heart and tenacity can never be questioned after toughing it out against “Killer Cub.” Despite taking the loss, Choi gained himself tons of respect from fight fans and fighters alike, which was already on the rise after scoring three first-round knockouts in his first three fights under the UFC banner.
Now, Choi will look to get back in the win column against Stephens, another hard-hitting veteran who is capable of dishing out punishment.
UFC Fight Night 124 will also feature a co-main event bout between Vitor Belfort and Uriah Hall, as well as a women’s Strawweight battle between Paige Van Zant and Jessica Rose-Clark.
