Kamaru Usman and Neil Magny agree to fight at UFC 218 in Detroit

Streaking Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight prospect, Kamaru Usman, isn’t waiting around for the promotion to find him a viable opponent in the stacked 170-pound division.

Blame it on Nigeria.

Besides, it’s much easier to just go on social media and poll the fans, as we learned from light heavyweight kingpin Daniel Cormier, who took matters into his own hands earlier today (details).

That’s why Usman is calling for a showdown against fellow welterweight standout Neil Magny, in a potential showdown that could take place at the upcoming UFC 218 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, on Dec. 2, 2017.

“Give the people what they want!” the No. 10-ranked Magny said on Twitter. “I ain't never been to Detroit!”

Usman (11-1), ranked No. 11, has been perfect since capturing the glass trophy on season 21 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). Magny (19-6), meanwhile, is just 2-2 since turning away Kelvin Gastelum in 2015, but is a notoriously tough out.

Is this a fight you, as a fan, would like to see?
