Henry Cejudo vs Sergio Pettis in the works for UFC 218 in Detroit

Here we go again.

An important Flyweight bout between Henry Cejudo and Sergio Pettis is in the works for the upcoming UFC 218 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is set to go down on Dec. 2, 2017 in Detroit, Michigan.

That’s according to MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani, who reported the potential re-booking of the matchup after the original fight -- which was set to go down this past May at UFC 211 -- was scrapped after a last-minute injury to Cejudo.

Cejudo got back on the winning track at UFC 215 earlier this month by knocking out Wilson Reis in the very first round after suffering back-to-back losses (full recap here).

Pettis, meanwhile, has won four in a row, defeating Brandon Moreno in his most recent bout at UFC Fight Night 114 in Mexico City. The youngest of the Pettis brothers has shown vast improvement in his fight game since making his Octagon debut back in 2013.

A win for Cejudo will help him get back to the big dance, while “The Phenom” is in search for his first-ever shot at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gold at just 24 years of age.
