Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans was hoping for a new lease on his combat sports life, dropping down to middleweight after coughing up two straight.

Unfortunately for “Suga’,” the change in weight did little to improve his results and now The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 2 champion is back where he started, thanks to consecutive decisions losses at 185 pounds.

“I can’t retire like this,” Evans told MMA Fighting. “I would never know peace again in my life. Endless nights I would be left looking at the ceiling unable to accept reality. I have to talk that over, but I feel like at 205 I had more energy,.”

Evans (19-7-1) turned 38 this week and has not seen the win column in nearly four years. In addition, health scares (like this one) have cast a long shadow over his future in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Who do you, as a fan, want to see him fight next?
