The downfall of the legendary Takanori Gomi continued last night (Fri., Sept. 22, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 117 live on FXX from inside the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, as the 39-year-old veteran tasted yet another first-round stoppage after Dong Hyun Kim laid waste to “Fireball Kid” with an impressive TKO. Unfortunately for Gomi, this is his fifth-straight first-round defeat, with all of those losses coming within three minutes of action.

With this win, Kim locks down his second-straight victory at 155 pounds. More importantly, “Maestro” finishes one of the most respected lightweights to ever compete in mixed martial arts (MMA). Gomi is obviously not what he used to be, but a knockout finish over “Fireball Kid” still holds some weight around these parts.
