UFC Fight Night 117: Looking back at the glory days of Japanese MMA (Video)

With Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returning to Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, on Fri., Sept. 22, 2017, let’s stroll down memory lane during the peak of Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA), taking a look at PRIDE 33: "The Second Coming."

This event, which featured names like Dan Henderson, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Alistair Overeem, among others, would go down as one of the greatest events in MMA history.

While UFC Fight Night 117, which features Ovince Saint Preux vs. Yushin Okami in the light heavyweight main event on FXX is unlikely to be as memorable, combat sports in Japan will always have a special place in our hearts.

PRIDE never die! will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC Fight Night 117 fight card on fight night (click here), starting with the Fight Pass "Prelims" matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the remaining undercard balance on FXX at 8 p.m. ET, before the main card start time at 10 p.m. ET, also on FXX.
