UFC Fight Night 115 results: Siyar Bahadurzada stops Rob Wilkinson in Rotterdam

Siyar Bahadurzada faced off against Rob Wilkinson today (Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017) on UFC Fight Pass from inside Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It was Wilkinson’s promotional debut, while Bahadurzada was looking to get a win streak brewing after rebounding from two straight losses with a submission win over Brandon Thatch.

Wilkinson opened the fight pressuring, throwing a leg kick, then a couple teeps to the body. Bahadurzada caught a high kick and dumped him on his back, but he scooted back and got to his feet. Siyar pressed forward, and Wilkinson attempted to time him with a jab. Wilkinson closed distance, and Siyar threw heavy hooks in the pocket. Wilkinson shot in and got a double-leg against the cage, but Bahadurzada got back to his feet almost immediately. Wilkinson pushed him back against the cage with head pressure. He landed several knees, but Siyar hit him with a left hook on the break. Bahardurzada hit Wilkinson with a heavy body kick and almost snatched a D-Arce choke from the subsequent takedown attempt. Wilkinson defended the choke, getting back to pressuring in the clinch. He got another takedown, but Baharduzada worked back to the feet, then ate a heavy knee to the head.

Wilkinson came out jabbing and kicking, tried a lunging hook that missed, then went back to long-range technique. Bahadurzada looked for counters, connecting on a long right hand. Wilkinson kept wanting to open up instead of keeping distance, and did hit Siyar with a good one-two combination. Bahadurzada hurt Wilkinson with a counter overhand right. Then Siyar stepped forward and dropped Wilkinson with a shifting two-punch combination and looked to finish him! Wilkinson got back up, then ate another shot and was dropped again. He turtled as Siyar laid it on him until the referee finally saw enough! What a finish for Siyar Bahadurzada!

Bahadurzada had his hood pulled up for the post-fight interview, and said “come one, come all, because I’m the best in any division I fight!” He apologized for not getting an earlier and more spectacular knockout, but said things will only get better from here. He said he represents Afghanistan, but said he loves the Netherlands too, getting a cheer out of the crowd. Great win for Siyar “The Great” Bahadurzada.
