Two towering heavyweights will collide later today (Sat., Sept. 2, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 115 live on UFC Fight Pass from inside the Ahoy Rotterdam arena in Rotterdam, Netherlands, as divisional staple Stefan Struve welcomes rising contender Alexander Volkov to his Dutch backyard.
In preparation for the matchup of goliaths, UFC has opened up its vault and released Volkov’s most recent Octagon outing (shown above). The action features Volkov’s three-round war with former promotional staple Roy Nelson. Using his size, reach, speed, and precision, “Drago” was able to pick “Big Country” apart and claim his first decisive UFC victory (having captured a split decision in his debut).
Volkov is going to have a tougher time relying on his range and length against Struve later today, but the Russian’s performance opposite Nelson shows he’s capable of outlasting even the most experienced of UFC heavyweights.
UFC Fight Night 115 will also feature a middleweight matchup between knockout artist Siyar Bahadurzada and undefeated Australian prospect Rob Wilkinson.
