Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones scored one of the most decisive finishes of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, stopping Daniel Cormier by way of third-round knockout at UFC 214.

Unfortunately, that victory has been overturned to a “no contest” after Jones, 30, tested positive for steroids (Turinabol) in one of his pre-fight drug tests leading up to last July’s pay-per-view (PPV) event in Anaheim, California.
MMA Fighting brought word of the change on Wednesday.
Jones (22-1, 1 NC) was hoping his B-sample would come back clean, but alas, that too tested positive, which means “Bones” could be facing a four-year suspension from combat sports, pending an official hearing with United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Until then, Jones will hold on to his 205-pound title, though surrendering the strap feels more like a matter of when as opposed to if. It all depends on how convincing this argument will be.
Though I’m sure we’ve heard it somewhere before...
