Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently added yet another title fight to its upcoming UFC 217 blockbuster pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Sat., Nov. 4, 2017 inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Rose Namajunas.
Jedrzejczyk (14-0) remains perfect in her mixed martial arts (MMA) career, which includes an 8-0 run under the UFC banner. She was last seen turning away bantamweight import Jessica Andrade at UFC 211 in Texas.
A win in “The Big Apple” ties Jedrzejczyk with former 135-pound champion Ronda Rousey for consecutive title defenses at six.
Namajunas (6-3), meanwhile, punched her ticket to a strawweight title shot — literally — by battering Michelle Waterson at UFC on FOX 24 back in April. “Thug” is 4-1 since graduating The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 with three finishes.
Fun fight ... who ya’ got?
UFC 217 will be headlined by the middleweight title fight pitting Michael Bisping against the returning Georges St-Pierre. In the bantamweight championship co-main event, Cody Garbrandt looks to settle his grudge match with former teammate TJ Dillashaw.
