As the former pipe dream that is Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin draws ever nearer, HBO is doing what it can to feed the hype boilers. The station recently released the second episode of “24/7” for free on its YouTube page (watch episode one here).
While the first episode dealt with the fighters’ respective origins, this one focuses on their preparations for the biggest fight of their lives, plus the assorted shenanigans they get up to. For Canelo, that means visiting Mexico’s most famous jockey, while “GGG” shows off some ferocious ping-pong chops.
If you’re interested in actual analysis, there’s plenty of that, too. Both fighters go over their most recent fights while their coaches pick out perceived flaws in their opponents. There’s also a solid soundtrack and Liev Schreiber. What more could you want?
