Cris Cyborg calls for year-end featherweight title fight against Holly Holm at UFC 219

Cris Cyborg finally got the taste of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) gold after defeating a very game Tanya Evinger at UFC 214 on July 29, 2017 in Anaheim, California.

And now the fearsome striker is already searching for her first defense, and she has a specific opponent in mind. Cyborg took to Instagram to call for a championship bout against former UFC women’s Bantamweight champion Holly Holm for UFC 219, which is scheduled to go down on Dec. 30, 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Holm recently got back on the winning track be defeating Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Night 111 a couple of months ago, putting an end to her horrid three-fight win streak which saw her come up short in her bid to win the 145-pound strap against Germaine de Randamie.

Holm’s fight camp had already lobbied for a shot at either the 135 or 145 pound strap with a win over “Pitbull.” And since Cyborg is ready and willing, it’s only logical that the promotion make this bout. After all, it’s not like there’s many worthy contenders at 145 pounds eager to face the current champ.

Or at 135 pounds.
