After defeating Rashad Evans at last weekend’s (Sat., Aug. 5, 2017) UFC Fight Night 114 event inside Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico, Sam Alvey took the opportunity to call out another former champion in Vitor Belfort.
And much to the surprise of many, “The Phenom” responded via social media and accepted the Middleweight showdown against “SmileN.’”
you're my senior, it's only right you pick your burial grounds. great pic btw, its from 2006, right? @ufc

If you call them out, they will come.
Vitor ended his two-fight skid at UFC 212, defeating Nate Marquardt this past June, which ultimately led to Belfort delaying his much-publicized retirement plans. And since UFC isn’t too keen on “The Phenom’s” idea to create a “Legends League,” it seems the 40-year-old striker is ready to get back into the swing of things.
As for Alvey, his win over “Suga” -- a man he admits he idolized -- was his first after having his four-fight win streak snapped by Thales Leites last April.
