Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made good on its promise to bring a women’s 125-pound division to the Octagon, beginning with season 26 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), dubbed “A New World Champion.”
Which features a few familiar ex-bantamweight faces.
TUF 26 will be coached by lightweight contenders Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje and debut on FOX Sports 1 at 10 p.m. ET on Weds., Aug. 30, 2017. At the end of the twelfth and final episode, two remaining flyweights (from a field of 16) will compete in the live finale to determine the inaugural champion.
Here is the complete TUF 26 cast and line up:
Ariel Beck (4-4)
DeAnna Bennett (8-3)
Shana Dobson (2-1)
Sijara Eubanks (2-2)
Melinda Fabian (4-3-1)
Karine Gevorgyan (3-2)
Barb Honchak (10-2)
Christina Marks (8-8)
Roxanne Modafferi (21-13)

Lauren Murphy (9-3)
Rachael Ostovich (3-3)
Gillian Robertson (3-2)
Maia Stevenson (6-4)

Modafferi was a previous contestant on TUF 20.
Alvarez and Gaethje will face off at the end of the season; however, it is not yet known if they will headline the live finale or be slotted for a future pay-per-view (PPV) card. As we’ve seen in seasons past, a lot can happen over the next six months to both the fighters and the division.
Stay tuned.
