Welterweights Alan Jouban and Niko Price threw down tonight (August 5, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 112 on FOX Sports 1 from inside Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. Jouban was coming off a loss to Gunnar Nelson, while Price was undefeated. Price’s last bout, a KO win over Alex Morono, was turned into a no-contest after he tested positive for noted anabolic steroid, marijuana. He would quickly put that result behind him tonight.
They touched gloves. The southpaw Jouban ate a couple punches from a forward-charging Price, but moved backwards and kept his composure. Price broke him out of his stance with a hard low kick. Jouban landed a left straight, then Price returned the favor. Jouban stepped into a low kick, and Price hammered him with a right straight counter! Price threw a head kick while Jouban was still falling, which just missed; he followed up with ground and pound until the referee had a chance to step in. Jouban rose, but he was clearly out of it, stumbling back into the cage. Violent, violent knockout for the undefeated Niko Price!
Price immediately gives glory to God in his post-fight interview, saying he is ready to go for his next fight. He says he can’t wait to see his kids after three weeks in Mexico, thanks his wife for putting up with him, and whoops at the camera, extremely psyched. He is a hot prospect at welterweight now; and Fight Night 114 found itself on a hot streak of first round finishes, this being the seventh of the night.
Official result: Niko Price def. Alan Jouban by TKO, 1:44 of round 1
