The submission finishes rolled in like storm clouds earlier tonight (Sat., Aug. 5, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 114 live on FOX Sports 1 from inside Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. After a successful rear-naked choke and Von Flue choke ruled the way on the Fight Pass portion of the event, UFC veteran Rani Yahya added to the madness when he tapped out Henry Briones via first-round kimura on the FS1 prelims. The Brazilian gave the Mexican no chance to create separation, quickly shooting in when the fight started and finding a home for a takedown. After Briones defended an aggressive north-south choke attempt, Yahya grabbed an arm, stepped over into position, and cranked until Briones tapped nothing but air.

With this win, Yahya records his eighth submission stoppage under the UFC/WEC banner. The 32-year-old veteran may never quite get over the hill and work his way towards bantamweight title contention, but he does have a unique set of skills that can wreak havoc on 90 percent of the division.
