Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Rotterdam, Netherlands, this Saturday (Sept. 2, 2017) with local boy Stefan Struve in the starring role as he takes on Russian veteran Alexander Volkov in Fight Pass’ main event. Knockout artist Siyar Bahadurzada returns to action in the co-feature against Aussie prospect Rob Wilkinson, while Marion Reneau welcomes Talita de Oliveira to the Octagon and Leon Edwards throws down with Bryan Barbarena in the opener.
Don’t think Fight Pass is worth it? Here’s how to reimburse yourself for that $9.99 a month!
What Went Wrong at UFC Fight Night 114?
Alan Jouban’s chin is farther gone than I thought, but otherwise things went pretty swimmingly. Jack Hermansson and Rani Yahya dominated as expected and, while he did give me some high blood pressure in the first round, Sergio Pettis cruised past Brandon Moreno in the main event. More of that, please.
UFC Fight Night 115 Odds For The Undercard:
Darren Till (-190) vs. Bojan Velickovic (+165)
Mairbek Taisumov (-260) vs. Felipe Silva (+200)
Michel Prazeres (-360) vs. Mads Burnell (+300)
Rustam Khabilov (-330) vs. Des Green (+270)
Aleksandar Rakic (-125) vs. Francimar Barroso (+105)
Zabit Magomedsharipov (-445) vs. Mike Santiago (+355)
Abdul-Kerim Edilov (-670) vs. Bojan Mihajlovic (+485)
Andrew Holbrook (-170) vs. Thibault Gouti (+140)
Thoughts: That’s … quite an array of odds. Let’s just grab Darren Till and see how much value we can squeeze out of him.
Bojan Velickovic’s only noteworthy attribute is his size. He’s big, strong and rangy, but doesn’t use any of that to great effect. Both his striking and wrestling techniques are lackluster, though he’s fairly adept from top position. Till can match his height and, considering that he missed weight by six pounds last time, probably won’t have any issues dealing with “Serbian Steel’s” bulk. Till will ride his far superior striking to a clear-cut victory. Bank on it.
If you want to nudge those odds closer to even, try Rustam Khabilov. He’s already beaten four wrestlers in a row and the other safe investments, Zabit Magomedsharipov and Abdul-Kerim Edilov, are a bit too pricey.
UFC Fight Night 115 Odds For The Main Card:
Alexander Volkov (-130) vs. Stefan Struve (+110)
Siyar Bahadurzada (-150) vs. Rob Wilkinson (+130)
Marion Reneau (N/A) vs. Talita de Oliveira (N/A)
Leon Edwards (-270) vs. Bryan Barberena (+230)
Thoughts: Ouch. Rob Wilkinson might not be a bad investment, especially considering that Bahadurzada has fought just once in almost four years, but he’s stepping in on short notice and, as far as I can tell, has never fought at Welterweight. Might be best to just take what you can get from the undercard and wait until UFC 215 next week.
