Before Sergio Pettis steps into the Octagon to face rising prospect Brandon Moreno in the main event of UFC Fight Night 114 this weekend (Sat., Aug. 5, 2017) inside Arena Ciudad de Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see on of “The Phenom’s” most dominant wins.
Back in 2014, Sergio found himself face-to-face against Matt Hobar at UFC 181. By then, Pettis was no longer just Anthony Pettis’ little brother, as the young striker already had three fight UFC fights under his belt, going 2-1 before facing Matt.
Hobar proved game, though, dropping “The Phenom” early on. But, Pettis showed his toughness, as he weathered the early storm and went on to dominate the rest of the fight to earn a unanimous decision victory. Now, Pettis will look to pick up the biggest win of his career by taking out Brandon Moreno, who has yet to taste defeat inside the Octagon and carries with him an 11-fight win streak overall.
The winner will definitely climb up the Flyweight ladder, so you can expect both to come out guns blazing, which should make for an entertaining evening for the the fans.
