Boxing: Mayweather vs McGregor Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

There were plenty of people singing Conor McGregor’s praises after “Notorious” went ten rounds with the Floyd Mayweather, the pound-for-pound best boxer in the game today, at last night’s (Sat., Aug. 26, 2017) boxing event inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

But, there were just as many who were far from impressed with what they say from “Notorious,” including Floyd Mayweather Sr., “Money’s” father and lead trainer for the “Money Fight.” To hear him tell it, Conor didn’t show him any boxing skill whatsoever, and if he continues on this journey, it won’t end well for the Irishman.

“No, I wasn’t (impressed with anything). He was just kind of grabbing, I don’t see anyone talking like the way he talk, then go out there and fight,” Mayweather Sr., told reporter (via MMA Fighting).

“Man, that was pathetic, I thought. Specifically because of all the illegal punches he did. You’re hitting somebody in he back of the head, you’re doing everything, plus, I mean all that stuff, it’s just crazy man,” he added.” “I’ll be honest, he didn’t show me no boxing. I ain’t seen nothing. Rabbit punches I seen,” added Floyd Sr.

Floyd went on to defeat Conor via 10th round technical knockout, though McGregor showed early on that he did belong inside the ring against one of the best to ever do it. In fact, while some predicted the UFC Lightweight champion wouldn’t land a single punch on Floyd, he went on to land 111, more than what Manny Pacquiao managed to accomplish against Mayweather in a full 12-round fight.

Still, Mayweather Sr. isn’t convinced Conor is a boxer at all, and says if he decided to take another boxing match, eventually somebody is going to kill him.

“Let me tell you something. If he keeps fighting, doing that thing right there with that boxing, somebody’s going to kill him.”
