Mayweather vs. McGregor was a huge event for the sportsbook world, with massive amounts of cash coming in on both Conor and Floyd. Amongst the many prop bets available: odds on Nate Diaz making the walk to the ring with Mayweather. And while you'd have lost money if you gambled on that happening, Nate was present at the T-Mobile Arena for the big fight and ended up in Floyd Mayweather's dressing room after the bout was over.
“I think it went how I thought it was going to go,” Diaz told MMA Junkie shortly after Mayweather TKO'd McGregor in the 10th round.
Nate's got good reason to be interested in how this superfight played out: he's currently sitting on the sidelines waiting for a big money trilogy fight with Conor McGregor to materialize. That may happen sooner than you might expect, too. McGregor referenced a third Diaz scrap several times as a possibility when discussing what might be next.
"I have many contenders in the mixed martial arts game," Conor said at the post-fight press conference. "I have a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz that's sitting there. I have options. I'll see what's what. I'm here to fight. I'm certainly fresh. I'm certainly fresh to fight. I was not badly damaged there. It was fatigue. So we'll see what's next. We'll see what offers come on the table."
So what do you think, Maniacs? Does a rubber match with Nate Diaz tickle your fancy as McGregor's next fight? Let's just hope it goes down in the UFC or Dana White's head might explode.
