Remember that quote from White Men Can’t Jump about getting smoked?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor McGregor prepared for his upcoming Floyd Mayweather Jr. boxing match by sparring with former IBF junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi.
Who failed to mention he was on loan from Mayweather.
“Me and Paulie gonna stay at the house and talk about strategy,” Mayweather said as they laughed at the “sucker” for getting duped. “We’re gonna talk about everything. Paulie, thank you for going over there like I asked you to.”
But is this an effort to save face?
McGregor and Malignaggi had a falling out in recent weeks after “Notorious” claimed to drop the retired pugilist during one of their sparring sessions. Video was later released by UFC President Dana White (watch it) but the camps remain split on what actually happened.
I guess we’ll find out if it matters or not tomorrow night (Sat., Aug. 26, 2017) in “The Money Fight” pay-per-view (PPV) main event inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
