If at first you don’t succeed, jump a weight class and try again.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continues to populate its newly-created flyweight division, recently adding a pair of Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 20 stablemates Joanne Calderwood and Bec Rawlings.
They’ll do the deed at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 121 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, going down Nov. 19, 2017 from inside Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
Calderwood (11-3) struggled to find her footing (and her weight) at 115 pounds, settling for a 3-3 record after graduating from the combat sports reality show. “JoJo” was last seen on the losing end of a unanimous decision against Cynthia Calvillo.
Rawlings (7-6) is also coming off back-to-back losses and wasn’t making any headway in the women's strawweight class. After getting finished by Paige VanZant, “Rowdy” went down on points against division standout Tecia Torres.
UFC Fight Night 121 will be headlined by the heavyweight showdown pitting Mark Hunt opposite Marcin Tybura. Elsewhere on the card, Belal Muhammad and Jesse Taylor collide in welterweight action.
